OPEN LETTER TO THE HONOURABLE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC ACCOUNTS

TARAKIRIVOICE IS A BLUNDER, AGENT OF DISASTER

Distinguished Honourable Members,

I, General Ebiae (Rtd), writing in my capacity as a representative of **The Winds of Positive Thought for All Ex-Agitators (WPTEA)**, a duly registered and peace-loving body of former agitators committed to the sustainable development of the Niger Delta, hereby bring to your kind and urgent attention a matter of grave concern.

It has come to our notice that a certain group operating under the name “Tarakirivioce Newspaper” has continued to inundate the Office of the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), High Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Ph.D, as well as your distinguished Committee, with petitions and publications relating to alleged events of 2021, which occurred under previous administrations long before the current leadership assumed office.

These actions, in our considered view, constitute deliberate and unwarranted distractions designed to divert the attention of the Administrator and your august Committee from the critical constitutional and oversight responsibilities entrusted to you by the Nigerian people.

It is public knowledge within the region and beyond that the entity known as Tarakirivioce Newspaper has, over time, established a notorious reputation for engaging in systematic blackmail, character assassination, and the peddling of falsehoods against public office holders and government institutions for pecuniary or political motives. Their activities do not reflect genuine advocacy but rather a pattern of serial extortion and defamation.

Consequently, on behalf of thousands of reformed ex-agitators who have embraced peace and now look to the Presidential Amnesty Programme for meaningful reintegration and empowerment, we most respectfully urge the Honourable Committee to:

1. Treat every petition, publication, or representation emanating from Tarakirivioce Newspaper with the utmost caution;

2. Disregard and discountenance any attempt by the said group to impugn the character or distract the leadership of High Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro; and

3. Remain undeterred in supporting the ongoing reforms at the PAP.

High Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro has demonstrated unwavering commitment to repositioning the Presidential Amnesty Programme in full alignment with **President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda**. His transparent, inclusive, and people-centred leadership is already yielding tangible results that directly benefit former agitators and the wider Niger Delta region. Any attempt to derail this noble effort through baseless petitions and media trials must not be allowed to succeed.

We have absolute confidence in the wisdom, patriotism, and sense of justice of the distinguished members of this Committee. We trust that you will continue to shield the Amnesty Programme from the machinations of mischief-makers, thereby enabling the current administration to consolidate the gains of peace and deliver lasting development to our people.
