In the annals of Borno's history, one name stands out as a beacon of hope, transformation, and leadership: Professor Engr Babagana Umara Zulum. Despite the opinions of his critics, Zulum's impact on Borno State is undeniable. His tenure has been marked by unprecedented development, courageous leadership, and a commitment to service.
When Zulum assumed office, Borno was grappling with the aftermath of insurgency, displacement, and hopelessness. However, with unwavering determination and a fearless heart, he confronted the challenges head-on, transforming the state into a construction site of hope. His leadership has been characterized by visionary projects, including the construction of four mega flyovers in Maiduguri, a feat previously unimaginable.
Zulum's governance style is defined by his willingness to take risks, prioritize service over comfort, and give back to the people. He has brought honor and dignity to the people of Borno, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
It is imperative to acknowledge that Boko Haram's insurgency has been the greatest calamity to befall Borno, while Zulum's leadership has been the greatest blessing. His impact on the state is a testament to his exceptional leadership, and his name deserves to be etched in the history books, streets, and hearts of the people.
As a son of Borno, I join countless others in expressing pride and gratitude for Zulum's leadership. His selfless service, courage, and vision have made him the best leader Borno has ever produced. His legacy will endure long after politics fades, serving as a shining example of leadership and transformation.
