PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CITIZENS DEMAND Group drags Adokiye Tombomieye, Tecnimont nig ltd to efccACCOUNTABILITY IN THE ALLEGE $1.5 BILLION CONTRACT SCAM TO REHABILITATE THE PORT-HARCOURT REFINERY: PEACEFUL PROTEST TO BE HELD in Abuja 30 September 2025 –

 Concerned citizens of under the umbrella of Citizens Transparency Watch are calling for accountability and justice over the alleged $1.5 billion contract scam linked to the tenure of former Executive Vice President (EVP) upstream NNPC  Eng Adokiye tobomieye the members of the board  (PHRC) and TECNIMONT Nig Ltd  The alleged misappropriation of public funds represents a grave injustice to the people, depriving communities of essential infrastructure, social services, and development. Citizens are united in their belief that no public official should be above the law and that stolen resources must be recovered for the benefit of all. Planned Peaceful Protest: To press for urgent action, a peaceful demonstration will be held on 7th October 2025 at EFCC headquarters Abuja beginning at 8: 00 am the protest will bring together civil society groups, youth organizations, professionals, and everyday citizens demanding:1. An independent investigation into the alleged $1.5 billion contract scam.2. Prosecution of all individuals found culpable.3. Restitution of stolen public funds.4. Stronger institutional reforms to prevent future corruption.

Spokesperson Solomon koru, speaking on behalf of the organizers, stated: “We are exercising our democratic rights in a peaceful and lawful manner. The people deserve transparency, justice, and the recovery of resources stolen from them. We will not stop until accountability is ensured.”The organizers emphasize that the protest will be non-violent, orderly, and respectful of public order while drawing national and international attention to the urgent need for accountability.Media Invitation:Members of the press are invited to cover the protest.
