Electric (IE), Nigeria’s largest power distribution firm, has formally fired back at a viral social media report targeting its top leadership, describing the publication as a "malicious fabrication" designed to destabilize the company’s reputation.
The power giant issued a stern rebuttal on Wednesday, February 4th, following the rapid spread of claims on WhatsApp and X (formerly Twitter) that alleged professional misconduct by the company’s CEO,
Mrs. Folake Soetan, and Board Chairman, Dr. Kola Adesina.

In a swift investigative response, Ikeja Electric revealed that the entity behind the report , the so-called 'Nigerian Global Business Forum appears to be a phantom organization.
According to the DisCo, the group has no legal registration or corporate footprint either in Nigeria or overseas.
Furthermore, the individuals who signed the defamatory statement, identified as "Dr. Alaba Kalejaiye" and "Musa Ahmed," were described as "unverifiable characters" with no traceable professional history.
