AKUME TO FEDERAL APPOINTEES: AMPLIFY THE TRIUMPHS OF PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU — LET EVERY NIGERIAN FEEL THE RENEWED HOPE!

Communiqué on the Federal Appointees Strategic Summit
Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation
16th September 2026

In a stirring charge that echoed the resolve of a nation rising, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, has commanded Ministers, Special Advisers, Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers of Federal Government Agencies to launch an unrelenting, nation-wide campaign of strategic communication — to proclaim, without apology or hesitation, the historic achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, under the transformative Renewed Hope Agenda.
Declaring open the Federal Appointees Strategic Summit in Abuja on Wednesday, 16th September 2026, Senator Akume framed the gathering not as a routine meeting, but as a decisive moment of national reckoning and recommitment. He described it as a critical platform for taking stock of the administration’s mid-term scorecard and measuring the tangible, life-changing impact of bold policies on the ordinary Nigerian — the farmer in the North, the trader in the markets, the student seeking opportunity, the worker demanding dignity.

“This is a strategic Summit of top political appointees of government — Ministers, Special Advisers, Chairmen and CEOs of Agencies,” the SGF declared with characteristic firmness. “We are not here merely to evaluate. We are here to take stock of what has been achieved by each Ministry and every Agency, and — more importantly — how those achievements are transforming the lives of the ordinary people of this great nation.”

He charged participants to be open, constructive and courageous: to share experiences, confront challenges, and above all, take personal responsibility for communicating their institutional successes in clear, accessible language that resonates from the grassroots ward to the national stage. Silence, he implied, is no longer an option. The people must know. The people must feel. The people must own the progress.

In powerful solidarity, the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Henry Dele Alake, affirmed that the Summit offers every Ministry, Agency and Federal establishment a golden opportunity to present its concrete contributions to the Tinubu administration. He stressed that the administration has recorded significant and unprecedented strides — grounded in verifiable facts, not empty rhetoric — and that these victories must now be communicated with greater force, clarity and conviction.

The Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, CON, delivered a profound reflection on the very essence of President Tinubu’s leadership. He reminded the gathering that the President’s decision to contest the 2023 presidential election was driven by a steely determination to confront Nigeria’s longstanding structural challenges head-on, and to make the difficult but necessary choices in the supreme national interest. The Renewed Hope Agenda, Bagudu emphasised, is no mere campaign slogan. It is a deliberate, well-articulated strategy for national transformation — a covenant with the Nigerian people that is already yielding measurable results.

Under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria has begun to turn the corner:

- Macroeconomic stabilisation is taking root — inflation trending firmly downward, foreign reserves climbing to multi-year highs, the parallel market premium virtually eliminated, and the stock market soaring with market capitalisation multiplying several-fold.
- Federation Account allocations to states and local governments have more than doubled, empowering sub-national governments to deliver for their people.
- Oil production is rising, drilling activity has surged, and billions of dollars in fresh Final Investment Decisions are returning to the upstream sector.
- Student loans through NELFUND have opened the doors of higher education to over 1.5 million young Nigerians.
- Major infrastructure corridors — the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, and critical arterial roads — are advancing at unprecedented scale.
- Social protection programmes, housing initiatives, agricultural mechanisation and primary healthcare revitalisation are reaching millions of households.

These are not abstract numbers. They are the foundations of a more prosperous, more resilient, and more hopeful Nigeria.

The Summit, convened by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has brought together the key stewards of the Federal Government to deliberate on programmes, achievements, remaining challenges, and — crucially — strategies for strengthening both implementation and public communication of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

This is the call of history.
This is the charge of leadership.
This is the duty of every appointee who serves under the progressive banner of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Let every Minister, every Adviser, every Agency head rise to the occasion. Let the story of Renewed Hope be told in every community, every market, every campus, and every household. Let the Nigerian people see, hear, and feel the tangible dividends of courageous leadership.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has chosen the hard but necessary path. He has chosen nation-building over populism. He has chosen long-term transformation over short-term applause. And history will record that under his watch, Nigeria began the decisive journey from potential to prosperity.

The work continues. The message must be loud. The hope is real — and it is being renewed every day.

This timely and forceful directive by the SGF fully validates the grassroots advocacy consistently undertaken by the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG) and the Asiwaju Again 2027 Project. It is a clarion call for all stakeholders to intensify ward-to-ward, street-to-street sensitisation on the undeniable gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda. The time to celebrate, defend, and expand the Tinubu legacy is now.
